We packed up the car and drove to the west side of the state last Wednesday to visit over the 4th. Every year since I met Adam, we have attended a 4th of July cookout at his Aunt Paulette and Uncle Paul's house. They have a great swimming pool, a big yard to play in and always tons of food. Since moving to Monroe we haven't gotten to see as much of the extended family as we would like to - so this was a great opportunity to reconnect with everyone.
Addison came with us last year but was so small (only 3 weeks old) that he had to stay in the gazebo the entire time. Well, this year he got to go in the pool and play with the other kids. There are so many little ones around his age - our family had a baby bust in the last 2 years. During his break from the pool, Addison inquisitively watched as Jackson and Noah tossed around a frog, put it in a bucket and gave a push down the slide. Boys will be boys.
We had a great time seeing everyone. The next BIG family gathering will be for Christmas, hopefully we will see some familiar faces before then - visiting us in Monroe.
