What a Year!

This week will be one year since we arrived in Monroe. So much has changed I can hardly keep up. We are no longer driving the car we had when we moved here and of course Addison is no longer in that little bitty car seat either. My house is no longer a total blank slate - we have made our personal touches on the townhouse and are enjoying the maintenance free living.
My husband the missionary has now become my pastor (interesting scenario) and has a five course plate in front of him.
When we first arrived I knew one family and was eager to meet others. I am now daily meeting moms and making great connections. From play dates to MOPS and not to mention the pizza place and parks, I am meeting the young families of Monroe.
Addison is always on the go, ready to explore something new. He loves to go to the river and watch the geese, joyously jumps around in any kind of water (bath, pool, sprinkler), and ever so intensely watches the neighbors as they walk past with their little dogs. This is the only home he has really known since he was just six weeks old when we moved here.
My sister-in-law Emily (who transplanted with us) is kicking butt at the hospital and is always on the run for the various ministry endeavors we are a part of.
Our church, Elevate, is steadily growing and making an impact in the community and our missions ministry treeoflife continues to send people and support others around the world.
With one year under our belt I think we can now say we are settled and happy in our new home town of Monroe.
