Have you ever been told by a friend or family member long after the fact that you were missing it someplace? I have what I call an "Open Door Policy" with those closest to me (Mom, Mom-In-Law, Sisters, Husband). I have given these people permission to let me know if they see something that I am not seeing. I don't want to walk around blind to something that everyone that interacts with me can see. I would rather be a little hurt by loving words of concern or correction than continue down a path that is destructive for myself, my family or the ministry. I firmly believe that God can speak to me about the things in my life but I am also very aware of the multiple dimensions of ones life and how we are unable to see all areas at all times.
